I've always had this passion to serve in Haiti. I've never lived in Haiti but I remember the first time I volunteer in Haiti in 2012 right after the earthquake. I saw the earthquake on CNN the first thing that came to mind, how could I help and be of service. I immediately, found an organization called Airline Ambassador online that was recruiting volunteers. That week I helped organize a musical drive for Haiti within my community and I was on my way to Haiti. When I arrived in Haiti I was so touched by the amount of wonderful volunteers from all walks of life, who were there to help. That whole week was an experience of a lifetime. So, many people in need and so much work to be done. We worked from the slump, giving medical care to those where aid was just hard to get to their area. We also worked at a private Hospital in Sacre Coeur giving medical aid to the victims. After, a week I return home with Haiti in my heart. I was so sad to leave because I felt like there's a lot more I could do to help. It's been almost five years since the earthquake and I still feel Haiti is where I need to be to help. So, I want to return to Haiti in 2015, it's been way too long. I would love to help those who are still in tents find stable housing. I also would love to help the kids who are restaveks(child slave). Would love to give them hope, education and stable housing. Did you know UNICEF estimates 300,000 Haitian children are restaveks and 3,000 are trafficked out of Haiti each year. This task is a big task and also a huge leap for me. I would love to help but I cannot do it alone. That's why I'm asking for any type of donation to help me give hope to the hopeless.
