Partner With Rowena Gundaya In Her Fight Against Cancer

We are the Gundaya family- Loi (41), Rowena (37), Salima (9) and Ibrahim (4).

We are Filipinos living in Oriental Mindoro, a family who loves Jesus and is passionately learning about serving unreached indigenous people groups.

In 2018 my wife Rowena was diagnosed with a stage-2b breast cancer and underwent a right radical breast mastectomy. She was advised to undergo 24 sessions of chemotherapy, which would have cost around 1.7 million pesos ($35,000 USD), and advised to undergo bone scans every six months. Due to my (Loi) unemployment and lack of funds, we decided to forego Chemotherapy, and instead try alternative healing for several months following her operation.

After three months of alternative medicine along with dietary discipline, she went into remission. All her clinical laboratory test results were normal, and she was declared cancer-free. We were so grateful for God’s gracious and miraculous healing.

Starting in January of this year, Rowena began coughing and after tests and doctor appointments, we learned that the cancer has recurred and is stage 4, with metastases to the lungs and liver.

Rowena is 37 years young- a vibrant, loving wife, mother, and friend. She is fighting for life and healing, and we are walking in faith that she will overcome this cancer through Jesus and any medical means necessary.

We are under the care of an Oncologist and to begin Chemotherapy soon--the cost will be around PHP 90,000 ($1,860.00 USD) every three weeks.

I am working full-time as a virtual assistant at an online company, doing my best to provide for my family. Along with so many others during this time of global pandemic, we are having a difficult time affording even our basic needs.

Above all, we are looking to God as our good Father to do a miraculous healing of Rowena’s body. Please join us in interceding and praying big prayers in faith; that God’s glory, power, and healing would pour out on Rowena and His love would lead us through this dark valley.
