Campaign Story
My mother Edienne Hattingh has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and is in the advanced phases of the disease in which they can no longer increase the dose of medicine she should receive. She struggles to walk, she can no longer drink any beverage from a cup that is above half full since her tremors and uncontrolled movement makes her spill it on herself. She has recently been approved by the medical board to undergo the surgery. She has medical coverage but they will only pay up to $2000 of the total surgery cost and she is not in the financial position to pay the rest. She has considered selling her apartment in the retirement home she lives in to pay the surgery and use the rest of the money to rent. My Parents divorced when I was 8 years old. She is a single mother and not in the position to work. She was declared medically unfit to work when she was about 58. She is now 61 years old. I am currently 22 years old and I just graduated and started working this year. I am giving her all the money I can afford to give since every little bit will help. I ask you please to help her out so that she can undergo the surgery and change her life. If the disease continues to worsen at this rate my children will one day not know their grandmother and it will break my heart. Please if you need any further information feel free to contact me
