Campaign Story
- Hello, I am a 17 year old Malaysian student. I received a straight 10As in my SPM(O-Level/IGCSE) equivalent.
I received a full scholarship (tuition only) to further my studies into A-Levels, however I require money to cover additional costs(examination fees, lab fees, books and stationeries).
My parents are capable but unwilling to further support my education. Reason being: I have been enrolled into a college prior to this but quit because I was subjected to bullying and abuse by peers and lecturers. My parents were furious that I would not just toughen up as they ‘are going through worse times’ and have told me to fund my own education and practically disowned me. I have tried for over a month to acclimatize to said college (it’s a boarding school) but I gradually became worse. I became sick very often and cried myself to sleep almost every night. After about four months, I decided noone was going to force me to stay. I reached out to counsellors but I just became more and more ostracised.
The college I wish to attend requires the first semester fees to be paid in full, and under completion of A-Levels, the first semester fees will be returned provided I maintain a good GPA.
Here’s the breakdown of the additional costs I must pay (despite procuring a ‘full scholarship’)
First semester fee - 5250 MYR~1270 USD
Lab fees (4 subjects) - 1200 MYR~290 USD per subject
Application Fee, Admission Deposit, General fees - 2500 MYR~605 USD
Total=12550 MYR~3035 USD
Any amount of donation is appreciated! I hope to start college next January(2019) and will be working until then but I can only hope to earn up to 3000MYR~725USD as wages in my country are quite low
