My parents, Irv and Freddie Curley, like so many others have had a rough time lately. My father is a pancreatic cancer survivor of 8 years. This past January, he fell out of bed and hit his head on his side table. He ended up with a brain bleed and had brain surgery in March. Then, at his 3 week follow up appointment, his brain was bleeding again. He had a much more extensive brain surgery at that point. He is not the same active man he was. He now has to be on seizure medication, can no longer drive, and must be cared for at all times. meanwhile, my mother received a diagnosis of Parkinson's disease while Dad was in the hospital. My mom is only 68, my dad, 72. They live over 30 minutes from any family in an apartment and need to move closer to family so that they can have the care they need. To do this, their lease must be bought out, they need a downpayment on the new apartment, movers to pack and move everything they have accumulated. They have no income other than social security, and we children live paycheck to paycheck as so many do. This would be a true gift from God for our family.
