I am a paraplegic father from a car accident 24 years ago. I have a beautiful 4 year old girl who was an absolute miracle through an IVF procedure. We had an 11% chance of success. I teach as a middle school math teacher in one of the toughest inner city schools of disadvantaged children in Tampa. I teach full-time and I'm in a lot of pain. My spine is collapsing from a condition called charcot spinal anthropathy which is where the disks in my lumbar have dissolved completely. I require a 12.hour fusion surgery that doctors state could kill me; but I must work full-time to pay child support and live independently. I have been researching how to get a court order to stop my ex wife from leaving with our child to Bogata, Colombia and not come back. I need a lawyer to fight for a court order to restrict her from leaving the country.

My ex wife deceived me and my parents when I agreed in a divorce decree to allow my child to go over to Bogata, Colombia for school. We traveled to this beautiful country six times before for IVF attempts to become parents; so, I had no concerns about the quality or experience our daughter would receive. But weeks after I signed the divorce decree my child tells me about this man from Colombia that was staying with them during Christmas holidays. When I heard his name I remembered, my wife at the time, tell me about a boyfriend she had nearly 20 years ago while she was attending Colombia University, and how they almost got married. Well, looks like she wants to return to her place of birth and follow through with what wasn't done in the past; although, this time she is trying to take my child, and I must afford a lawyer and stop her before she makes her reality, my nightmare.

I am in fear of this nightmare becoming my reality; because, I understand what financial strains she is in, and to leave it all behind for a new life in a new land is her escape. 2 weeks ago she applied for my daughter's passport, and asked me for a copy of my drivers license to show I agreed for the issuance of the passport. When I refused, she used the divorce contract that I signed, and the state department accepted it as my agreement for my child to travel to Colombia. I am now distraught to have learned the reason why she wanted my daughter to go to Colombia and it was Not for school. I cannot afford a lawyer and need your help. Please donate to stop this nightmare from becoming my reality.
