Parallel Space Fundraising 衆籌營運資金 2021-2022

Parallel Space 在大南街202號鋪位的這個藝廊展覧空間的三年租約將在七月尾到期;
本月六月底就要決定是否跟業主簽訂以下兩年的租約，去繼續第四及第五年的營運計劃。為期2021年至2023年七月底，在此正式向公眾籌集，為以下一年的營業資金籌募港幣六十萬元。

At the end of June, a decision will be made on whether to sign a lease with the landlord for the next two years, which marks our operation's 4th and 5th years (July 2021 to July 2023). With that in mind, we hope to raise HK$600,000 from the public, which would serve as our operating costs for the next year of operation.

由2018年10月正式開幕至本年2021年7月Parallel Space 在沒有零售小吃咖啡，沒有幕後資金，沒有政府資助，及沒有任何文化基金協助的情況下，走過了33個月，跨過了這四個翻天覆地的年頭，和香港人一起面對社會各種重大的改變及限制，亦一路前進自我療癒加油，直至現在，在資金上已經沒有能力再獨力經營；

Since our official opening in October 2018, Parallel Space has gone through 33 months with no proceeds from selling snacks and coffee, no behind closed doors financing, no government funding, and no assistance from any cultural foundation. In these 33 months, Parallel Space has faced the major changes and limitations of our society together with the people of Hong Kong. We have continued making strides forward, on a journey of self-healing and empowerment, until now, when we have found that it is no longer financially viable to sustain the space on our own.

結束是容易的，但回顧走過的這三年實在困難重重，Parallel Space 在極少資源下亦創建了一個滿是正面評價的獨立藝術文化展覧空間，為不少本地新晉及著名藝術家，插畫家，設計師及攝影師等各方的單位提供一個特別的自主展覽空間，辦過三十個不同類型的展覽，在大南街連接著香港的新舊世代的羣衆及創作人，包括門小雷，麥東記，夏永康，Deacon Lui, plants of gods, Missbean, The Spring is Here, 梁洛熙, Jeremy Ip, 霍佩詩，等等等等，有租用有合作有邀請有免費等方式便用，如此多元化藝術文化活力亦對大南街附近的社區產生重要的正面的文化氣息影響，而且在現今的香港環境中，以地鋪作為免收費的展覽空間實在難得；

Calling it quits is always simple. But looking back on the hurdles Parallel Space has overcome in the past three years, to create an independent art and cultural exhibition space that has received an abundance of positive comments with very limited resources, we are honoured to have provided a unique and independent space for many emerging and renowned local artists, illustrators, designers and photographers, etc.

We have held 30 different exhibitions here on Tai Nai Street and served as a bridge for the old and new generations of Hong Kong artists. From Little Thunder, Don Mak, Wing Shya, Deacon Lui, plants of gods, Missbean, The Spring is Here, Giraffe Leung, Jeremy Ip, Ceci Fok, and so on. We have rented our space, we have collaborated or invited, and we have let artists run wild and use our space for putting on a show for free. The energy we have brought has created a positive cultural impact on Tai Nan Street and the surrounding community. Moreover, it is rare to find a free exhibition space on the ground floor in Hong Kong today.

現在希望以衆籌方式，以公衆支持的資源下，繼續營運這個屬於新世代的多元化多面向文藝空間，在被稱為草根階層的深水埗 繼續發揮平行空間的初心概念，繼續為香港本土創作及展覽文化繼續出力。

We hope to continue to operate this diverse and multi-faceted art and cultural space for the new generation with the public's support. We hope to continue to uphold Parallel Space's philosophy here in Sham Shui Po - a district known for being the heart of our grassroots culture - and to continue to contribute to Hong Kong's local creative scene.

You may pledge any amount in this crowdfunding campaign, including the following:

HKD100 to HKD499: donors will receive our third-anniversary mystery gift

HKD500 or above: Parallel Space membership

HKD2000 or above: Galaxy Patron and Parallel Space Member

HKD5000 or above: Cosmic Patron and Parallel Space Member

Galaxy and Cosmic Patrons will receive a limited edition third anniversary gift, and all members will receive a third-anniversary souvenir.

主要包括支付一名全職工作人員薪金與租金，
及贊助新晉藝術家或創作人舉行展覽。以及網站更新

The HK$600,000 raised would be used in the following ways:- To pay the deposit for our lease renewal, approx $120,000- To pay for part of the renovation and construction of additional equipment, approx $80,000

The remaining $400,000 will be used to fund Parallel Space's operations in the upcoming year. It will be used primarily to cover rent and the salary of a full-time staff member, as well as to sponsor exhibitions by emerging artists, and to update our website.

Parallel Space 公司將申請為non profit organisation 非牟利機構；
本次捐款數目將會每三日公報數目，
收到捐款收據証明後一天內回覆確認。

Parallel Space will also be applying to be a non-profit organisation. All donations to this campaign will be announced and updated every three days. A confirmation will be sent within one day of receipt of the donation.

如在6月25日若未能籌集足夠金額60萬港元
Parallel Space 將會暫時離開大南街地鋪空間，再覓新址。

If we do not raise HK$600,000 by June 25, Parallel Space will leave the ground floor space on Tai Nan Street to find a new location.
