Campaign Story
2020 has been ridiculously difficult for all of us and we all deserve to hit that reset button right about now, don't we?
As if it hasn't done enough damage, we just found out that our friends, Chonie and her husband Bong, have been dealt with an insurmountable challenge of their lives. What seemed like a simple yet persistent case of Acid Reflux which frequently bothered Bong turned out to be something else. After getting a Chest X-Ray and CT-Scan, it was confirmed that Bong has a huge growth in both his left lung and Pancreas which was later confirmed as the Big-C and now is rapidly spreading throughout his liver and bones.
Victor N. Viloria, or Bong to his family and friends, is a loving husband to Chonie and a superdad to their only child MJ. With his present condition, Bong is unable to do any form of work and is currently at home with his family in Antipolo. Chonie on the other hand, sells home-made baked goods to cover the family's daily expenses and Bong's Medications while she takes care of Bong and Mj.
As the family prepares for Bong's treatment plan, it is expected that their expenses would pile-up and that is when they would need our help.
If there's anything we learned during this pandemic is that however hard our situation is, we could only pull through by caring for one another. At this point, we only ask that you open your hearts to the family and offer any form of help, may it be prayers or donation- whatever is comfortable for you, to give our friend Bong and his family a fighting chance to get through this. UPDATE (20 January 2021)
What started as a fundraiser for our dear friend Bong's medical expenses will end as a fundraiser for his funeral expenses. Like a thief in the night, Bong quietly passed earlier this evening. He is survived by his wife Chonie and their only son, MJ.
We all know that treatment for cancer can easily deplete funds; hence, we found out that Chonie still needs help to raise money.
So, for the last time, we would like to ask you to show your love and support for Bong by helping out his family. Indeed, it was a rollercoaster of emotions for them these past few months; but Bong is finally at peace where he can no longer feel the pain. Tol, pare, classmate Papa Bong, rest easy brod.
