Paragon City Sims 2 Legacy Website

 

Hello everyone, and welcome to the Paragon City Project!

This is a project that is very dear to my heart. For about 7 years now, I have been infatuated with the game "The Sims 2". About three years ago, I discovered a so called sim-to-sim website that absolutely blew me away.

The site has not been updated for years now, but it gave me the inspiration to connect Simmers all around the world to have a say in another player's game, find out what the outcomes of their decisions are and how they influence the story of the hood itself.

In short: The Sims 2 has me so passionate that I decided to start up a website in which other players decide how a hood named Paragon City is run.

Regular Simmers may know what is meant by the term sim-to-sim. It means that the website is dedicated to a certain hood, in which Sims write about Sims.

 

The format of sim-to-sim sites is often used as a continous journal about the comical culture in which the game can be played, it's about producing not only a economically self sufficient hood, but also document the Sims' lives as they go through good times, bad times and catastrophes.

The difference in Paragon City is, that the fate and development of the City is entirely in the Voter's hands. 

The website I'm planning will contain "Court Cases", life changing decisions that other Simmers can decide on, votings for a mayor or other Sims to be elected, as well as Laws that need to be passed by the Hood Council, (the fans, followers and voters).

Additionally there will be continuous articles about certain areas of sim life based on Aspiration or Add-On contents.

This game in connection with the Paragon City Project is important enough for me to create a Legacy dedicated to The Sims 2 and it's fans in it's own right.

I want this project to still be alive and kicking in 10,15 or 20 years.

I know the dedication and loyalty that many Sims Players have to "their game", and I am right among those fans.  

I want to try to not let this dedication dissipate completely as more new Games come out, be it Sims related or not.

The message I want to send out with this website is to capture the essence of what the Sims can be about if you involve the ideas of other players and let them interactively steer the fate of the resident Sims.

I want to see the hood, to which the website is dedicated, grow not as a Single Player experience but as a project fueled by the many Sims Players around the world.

Another advantage is, that it really doesn't matter what Sims Game you are playing, or if you are playing at all.

All that is needed is short participation involving polls and the like, and maybe take a few moments to get new ideas for your very own edition of The Sims Series by reading through some articles from residents of the hood.

To make this happen by the end of July, I ask for your support and your ideas.

Please be aware that there will NEVER be any charges for the participation on the website once it's up and running. The website and all it's content will always be free!

I only want to raise the initial funds necessary to register a domain, help pay for the Web Hosting for the first year and get the word out to reach as many Sims Players as possible.

 

 

As mentioned above, there will not only be the website but also a related Twitter and Facebook Account, and, eventually, a built-in web site forum in which votings for Heirships, Court Cases and virtual events are held.

I want people to be able to fully immerse themselves in the story they are creating and the directions they take with the hood.

Personally, I am very excited about this project, since it may bring Simmers around the world together and share in the continuous fascination that is The Sims Series.
