Paper Ranger

Paper Ranger aims to make the world a better place by turning paper waste into useful notebooks. By distributing them to disadvantaged children in rural areas, Paper Ranger not only contributes to a more sustainable, and an eco-friendly environment but also helps those in need.

Paper Ranger has started from a group of university students since 2007. We recognized the benefit from one-sided used paper after classes and put this idea forward as a simple process to make handmade notebooks and give out to poor children who lack stationery.

Up to 200,000 notebooks that all volunteers come together to make have sent happiness and opportunities for more education to disadvantaged children all over Thailand. For examples, the “Hmong” tribe, “Karen” tribe, and other tribes around the northern hill, immigrates around the borders, and including the children who were affected by natural calamity.

We would love to the see our notebooks become a medium of heart from the volunteers to the children who are on the other side whom we never see their faces or know their names before to have a better future.

As a group of students from UWC Thailand, we are aiming to raise funds within one week which is the time we will be working at the Paper Ranger site. This will be an ongoing project between UWC Thailand and Paper Ranger and we hope to spread the word about this organization around the world.

Central to the ethos of UWC is the belief that education can bring together young people from all backgrounds on the basis of their shared humanity, to engage with the possibility of social change through courageous action, personal example and selfless leadership.

As sustainability is a common goal across all UWCs, working with Paper Ranger highlights our mission and our commitment to achieving the common goal. We will be working with Paper Ranger directly and build a strong relationship between the school and the organization to further continue working for a sustainable future.

At present, the project is operating under the Foundation for Thai Rural Reconstruction Movement under Royal Patronage (TRRM)

Your donation will contribute greatly to retaining the life of the organization and to continue helping local students get the supplies they need. It will help us spread the word about the organization and inform people about the impact of our paper waste.
