Papers and Prints – Learning Materials for Filipino Children for the “NEW NORMAL”

As we all know school children will have to adapt to the “new normal” as an effect of the COVID19 pandemic.The Philippines will open its schools on 30^th of August 2020 and will use an online learning platform called DEpEd Commons, but due to limited access to internet and most of the families cannot afford gadgets, printed modular learning is an option.

The Burdeos Central Elementary School is a community school in the town of Burdeos, Quezon Philippines. Burdeos is an island municipality in the heart of the Pacific. Currently, the town has limited source of electricity and access to internet. The main sources of livelihood of the people are coconut farming and fishing. Most of the families earn just enough for daily consumption and may not be able to afford online learning. Due to this the school opted for modular learning.

Burdeos Central Elementary School is spearheaded by their principal Mr. Renante Verzo , armed by 40 teachers and approximately 1500 school children are expected as the school opens. This colorful school is knocking on your kind hearts for a little financial support to continue learning in the midst of the current situation. The funds to be raised will be used to buy ink, paper and other stationaries.
