Campaign Story
Last November 2019, my father Rogelio Asadon was diagnosed with gout, kidney failure and pulmonary edema (excess fluid in the lungs). After more than a month-long hospitalization, he was able to recover albeit with continuous dialysis and maintenance drugs.
This September 2020, he had an unfortunate bathroom slip and hit his head on the floor, making him comatose due to trauma and brain hemorrhage. Since it was an emergency situation and the current Covid19 pandemic stretching public hospital capacity, we had no choice but to have him admitted to the ICU of a private hospital.
This accident also caused his current kidney and pulmonary conditions to worsen and preventing a speedy operation to resolve the blood clotting in his head. While the medicines helped reduced the size of the blood clot, still the doctors' recommendations were to stabilize his vitals and do the operation once feasible.
His extended stay in the hospital has also exposed him to the Covid19 virus, and he has just tested positive this week. While we do our best to sustain his continued hospitalization, we are now on a dire need for financial support to keep the medicines flowing and the life-support machines running.
He has always been a model of perseverance for us, and the number one source of playful joy for his granddaughter Julienne. Any amount you may contribute will help us extend such a valued life and earn our sincerest thanks and appreciation.
