Papa Eddie’s Surgery

My parents got into a vehicular accident last July 28, 2018. A drunk man suddenly cross the road on their way home and they tried not to hit the man. Upon doing their best to avoid the man they did full stop of our motorcycle that leads them to fall and hurt themselves. My mother had a lot of wounds on the left side of her body particularly in the arms and legs. She also broke his arm but she is now taking her medications. Unfortunately, my father is the one who suffered a lot. His left shoulder is broken based on the x-ray. His whole face and his head are the parts that is so affected. He undergo CT-scan three times to know the status of his head and face. He had blood clot in his brain, but as per his neurologist, the blood clot in his brain can be healed by the medicine and does not have to undergo surgery. Based on his facial CT-scan, there are a lot of fractured bones on his face particularly in his nose that leads him to sometimes have a hard time to breath. His bones in the nose, cheeks, mouth and under his eyes are also broken.

As per his ENT doctor, he needs to undergo surgery for his face. His face needs to be repaired and an operation is needed to insert titanium plates to support his broken and dislocated bones in the face. Not considering to do the surgery may lead to internal complications like abnormal blood circulation and difficulty in breathing. This may not have a good result for his body.

Estimated costs to continue his operation is around 200,000Php. This includes the materials to use which is the titanium plate. One plate costs around 30 to 50 thousand depending on how many sets his face needed. His face needs 6 titanium plates to be inserted for repair. The estimated cost does not include the professional fee of the doctor and the hospital bill.

We need to do the surgery in 1 to 2 weeks time. Exceeding to 2 weeks may be difficult to the doctor to do the surgery since the bones will become stiff already. The doctor said once we have the money needed we can now scheduled the surgery as soon as possible.
