Papa Albert’s Life-saving Angioplasty

The doctor had diagnosed our father with CKD, and we had received the heartbreaking news that his kidneys were beyond repair. In May 2014, at the age of 47, it became compelling on my father to undertake dialysis sessions, and then eventually having to take them 3x a week.

In December 2018, at age 52, our father was being confined in the Metro Antipolo Hospital and Medical Center, having suffered from chronic diarrhoea and pneumonia.

In February 2019, he was able to have an angiogram at the Phil Heart Center. Shortly after, we had tragically heard that his hypertension, along with other complications has caused his heart to enlarge and that 2 major heart vessels are constricted due to this.

As a family, witnessing the suffering of our dear papa has caused us immense heartbreak, and recently Papa has been in and out of hospital, each time not knowing if he's going to make it out alive, with his suffering becoming more and more severe.

A stent needs to be inserted into each blood vessel to widen the constriction and help improve papa's blood flow and breathing. The first stent is a tear-jerking ₱200-300k while every following stent is ₱50k.

Today, as we speak, he is in confinement in the ICU after being rushed to Metro Antipolo Hospital.

We don't want him to die. We love him and we refuse to give up. He still has so many things to live for. And we can't let go.
