Panther Health and Fitness Trail

With cancer, obesity, diabetes and high blood pressure rampant all over the US, all communities should have local access to health, wellness and fitness. Our goal is to give residents the opportunity to make wellness a lifestyle. Taft, OK is one of the last historical all black towns left in Oklahoma, and these small towns have little or no revenue to invest in community revitalization. That should not mean that residents not be given the opportunity to invest in their health outside the medical community. Building a one of a kind trail that provides a safe place to walk, run, bicycle, access fresh local vegetables, fruit and herbs and fitness stations for outdoor workouts and fitness classes, farm to table demonstrations, land, conservation and pollinator education, and historical education all within the local community is our goal. A community food garden, fitness stations, health seminars, historical kiosks, and environmental education will bring people together, children, adults and seniors all working together to build an atmosphere for learning and wellness.
