Pangolins are considered the world's most trafficked animal. Pangolins are indigenous to Africa and Asia and are highly poached for their scales and meat. Last year alone, 10,000 pangolins were killed. These numbers are rapidly getting worse and they desperately need our help to stop from becoming extinct.
My project is to educate students on the danger of pangolin extinction and to donate funds to a charity that deals with this issue. I am educating my peers from informational talks to various grades and by a banner in the library explaining the situation. To raise money, I am hosting this campaign and also holding bake sales.
The charity I have chosen to donate to is the IUCN Pangolin Specialist Group. This organization specializes in pangolin research and rehabilitation. All of the laws and bans that are put in place for pangolin trafficking and poaching were because of the IUCN Group. All of the proceeds will go to this organization to help in their research and care.
Thank you so much for donating! If you have any questions, comments or concerns please contact me :)
