This is Tashi and Paul. Tashi and Paul run a small restaurant on Agonda Beach in Goa called Pacha Mama Rainbow. Rainbow is one of those special places that brings a lot of joy to everyone that comes in to it. It’s full of love and good vibes and is a big part of why I have spent so much time in Goa and why I have come back 3 times having left in search of new adventures. Rainbow is not just a restaurant that serves food (which is amazing by the way), it is a family made up of some of the most genuine and hard-working people that I have ever had the pleasure of spending time with. Tashi, Paul and the boys give everything they have from early morning until late night, 7 days a week, to make Rainbow the place that it is. A happy place full of music and smiles. Rainbow has become my home and Tashi, Paul and the boys, my family. Right now there is a dark cloud hanging over Rainbow though. After a tough season for business and with the dwindling number of tourists on the beach as the monsoon season fast approaches, Tashi and Paul have fallen in to debt which they now are unable to repay. Because of this they face losing everything they have, down to their pots and pans. They buy all their supplies from the local market 7 kilometres away however just yesterday their bike, their lifeline, was taken from them. As you can imagine this alone has had a detrimental effect on their chances of being able to repay their debts.

In an attempt to cut costs, two of the workers have been released from their duties. One is a man who has been working as the Head Chef. He has three small children in Kathmandu, Nepal who are desperate to their Dad having not seen him for over six months. Due to the current situation at Rainbow however, Tashi and Paul are unable to pay him his wages (the equivalent of around £600 for six months work) and so he is unable to get a flight back to be with his family. The money needed to help Rainbow is not just about saving material possessions; it’s about helping real people.

I celebrated my Birthday recently and had I been at home for it I probably would have met up with a lot of friends who would have brought me a drink in some over-priced bar in London. Well this year I spent it at Rainbow, with Tashi, Paul and the boys, so you saved yourself a fiver (maybe even a tenner if I ordered a cheeky double). So I ask you, with immense kindness, that you please donate that fiver or tenner, that would have otherwise been spent on a Birthday drink, to help Pacha Mama Rainbow. Collectively we can help to bring the colours back to Rainbow so that Tashi , Paul and the boys can continue to bring a few more smiles to the world.

Really, thank you from my humble heart. Love and light.
