With you help, we have supported 507 urban refugees with food and non food items. Last Saturday we distributed 700 kilograms of maize flour plus 140 kilograms of beans. These refugees lost the source of their livelihoods, they are unable to pay for basic necessities including rent, utilities, and food. Also, schools were often providers of meals for children, now leaving these children at risk of facing hunger with schools closed. With fears of hunger, homelessness, and certain hopelessness on the rise for this already vulnerable population, they need us now more than ever.

We still continue to ask for your kind support in order to continue proving food and non food items to urban refugees as they recover slowly their businesses sold during the lock-down. We cannot do this alone unless you support us. Together, WE CAN, Together, WE ARE VICTORIOUS. Big or small donation, every effort counts and it will all have a great impact on someone’s life.

Ristrictions of right to work across Uganda, has generated a cycle of poverty caused by Covd-19 pandemic. This health crisis has put many vulnerable people and particularly refugees in a disastrous state hence increases the dependancy syndrome amidst them. With your donations, 70 households today were provided food and non food items, giving a total number of 277 household receipients of food and non food items. Refugee lives were changed and relieved. As we express our gratitude and thanks for the kind donations, we still come and extend our hands for more support because the demand of food remains high and the health crisis is not soon reducing its expansion.

Thank you once again to all of you for being there in difficult times like these to supporter and donate as much as you did in order to have this campaign a success.

Thank you very much to all our friends and well-wishers for making it possible and to be first to help refugees when UN agencies and others didn't. We hope you will continue supporting us more. During these special days regardless of the financial trials all human being are facing across the globe, you have gone beyond yourselves by putting and thinking of others more than yourselves. I hoped that the pandemic ends quickly so that the lock-down measures imposed on people can be lifted such that they can continue with their normal life but it is unfortunate that these measures are being extended for 14 more days, continuing to put and keep refugees in disastrous state where starvation continues.

Thank you to everyone who donated money for this campaign to be a success. At OneYouth OneHeart Initiative, we are taking the lead and distribute food items in terms of 10 kg of Maize Flour and hand soap per house hold. Sanitizers are distributed in terms of mobile money cash transfer. A total of 107 house hold were given food and hand cleaning items. Just imagine if all you have is flour, it does not go very far but our beneficiaries (women) looked at it as a miracle from God. Uganda has announced on the 14th of April 2020, the extension of the lock down for more other 21 days, meaning for many urban poor, including refugees who are already condemned to languish in their homes will continue to starve for the following 21 days.

We are calling upon all well wishers across the globe to support our campaign through donations. Any donation makes a very big different in lives of refugees and gives back hope to the already starving refugee families. For anyone willing to donate, please do so by following us on: https://gogetfunding.com/oyoh_initiative_stop_spread_covid-19/ and share it widely in your network. Miracles are happening for starving refugees in Uganda. These pictures were taken while OneYouth OneHeart Initiative distributes 10 kg of Maize Flour and hand soap per house hold. Sanitizers were distributed in terms of mobile money cash transfer. A total of 80 house hold were given food and hand cleaning items as the first group of the initial 120 families we (OYOH) are trying to help. If all you have is flour, it does not go very far but the women looked at it as a miracle from God. Your donations give a bag of flour and soap to the 120 urban refugees that we (OYOH) are trying to help who are starving. This will last about a week depending on the size of the family. Uganda has announced today the 14th of April 2020, the extension of the lock down for more other 21 days, meaning for many urban poor, including refugees who are already condemned to languish in their homes will continue to starve for the following 21 days. If you find it in your heart to give more, please do so and pick the option of supporting the already starving refugee families and vulnerable people in Uganda.
