Overseas Medics of Ireland Fight for Justice

Dear All Overseas Medics of Ireland (OMI)  is an organisation which works relentlesssly for the cause of justice, equality and dignity of non EU doctors in Ireland and also for the better service to the Irish people in general in this important time when the Irish health system is on the brink of collapse due to the doctor shortage as a result of exodus of both Irish and Non-EU doctors After the Medical Practitioners Act 2007  (MPA 2007) was implemeted in 2011 by the Irish Medical Council ( IMC)  the opportunities for any medical training to most of the non EU graduates ( except Sudan, Pakistan post 2008, Australia, Newzealand, Malaysia) have been completely closed Though the Irish Medical Council put it down to the MPA 2007 as the reason for their decision to deny any training posts to non EU graduates ( howevere strangely they allow doctors to work in non training posts ) but the OMI assessed the law and as per OMI solicitor the IMC interpretation of the MPA 2007 was faulty, suspicious, discriminatory , anti people and creating doctor shortage in Ireland. OMI highlighted the issue with the IMC during its meeting so that the IMC drops its current position and allow qualified doctors from non EU countries to get training posts and serve the Irish people- however the IMc turned the request down and OMI has no option ut to knock on the doors of the court . OMI launched this appeal for the upcoming costly court battle for the fight for justice and equality of non EU doctors
