The Annerie Desert Sustainability Trust was born in the heart of a young girl, who saw the suffering of many through poverty and experienced it herself as her family traveled through Namibia to drill for water in order to provide water to cultivate food to the 13 different ethnic groups in the land of the brave.

The mission of the Sustainable development trust is to assist Namibia to become self-sustainable.

We are currently importing 75% of our produce from outside Namibia. 61% of our children are malnourished and 1.6 Million Impoverished.

I am Annerie Maré, Miss World Namibia 2021.

An Amazing Opportunity was granted for not only me but especially for Namibia. For the first time in six years, Namibia sent a candidate to Miss World 2021. I am so blessed to have been part of something so much bigger than myself and to be part of a platform where so many dreams can be implemented. I am inspired by the opportunity to make a difference in the World.

Being an ambassador of a great nation like Namibia is an honor. This competition was so much more than just a beauty pageant. It is an opportunity where I can raise awareness and bring changes to my Nation's needs .

The Miss World The Beauty With A Purpose program is a cause that every young woman will represent in her own unique way. Mine focused on Food security and clean water, not only for Namibia but worldwide. Going to miss World I focused my beauty with a purpose project” Our Water, My Development” on feeding one child at a time through resources such as water supplies, and education in backyard gardening and schools.

I strongly believe in the old saying "Teach a man to plant and he will never be hungry, but if give him a plate of food he will be hungry the next day." Once a basic human need is met, they can flourish in different areas of life.

More About My Country Namibia

The severe drought Namibia has been battling for the past 8 years is a consequence of global warming and has affected so many livelihoods in our country. 60% of our children are malnourished and lives in poverty as a result. Our future as a nation depends on food security.

This Ovahimba village is 3km away from any water supply and they have to travel every third day to fetch food for their animals and for their own use.

This project focuses on educating students as well as community members in agriculture by educating them to put up back yard gardens and gardens on school grounds. My pilot project going into Miss World, in Kamanjab, Namibia was to construct water wells for the community in the Kunene District and then to put up a school garden and educate students to become self-sustainable young entrepreneurs. Students will become self sufficient and sustainable.

The Current Focus of the project

There are three areas in which the trust is focusing on now.

1) School Gardening Education such as skill sets in agriculture, as well as entrepreneurial skills 2) Water supplies to different communities 3) The rising of young Entrepreneurs through education and opportunities

I have also recently started my own entrepreneurial business called Anne Fragrances where a percentage of every sale is contributed to the trust, to equip and enable other young entrepreneur's to start to live a life of purpose.

The Passion Behind this Project

Growing up my father was drilling for water in different communities. I was homeschooled, traveling as a family, I have learned of the joy and laughter when the borehole had water, as well as the tears and hunger that came with no water.

I am passionate about this cause which is in essence aiming to help provide clean water and food security in Namibia and shed light on the global warming crisis. I am excited to help bring change in an innovative and environmentally friendly way while also empowering communities through job creation. This is a basic human right and I believe it is worth fighting for.

Being a woman who is living out her purpose in the world, is what truly makes me feel alive and I am excited to make a difference for and in my country. By starting here, we can have a chance to highlight the need we face as Namibians and bring tangible change to the lives of so many vulnerable communities.

The Vision

of The Annerie Desert Sustainable Development Trust correlate with the one of Namibia to become a first world country by the year 2030. It is not only the governmental goal but my vision for my beloved country. These goals do not only apply my country, but goes together with SDG (Social Development Goal) 1 no poverty, SDG 2 no hunger and SFG 6 clean water.

With your help, we can make this dream a reality for me and the multitudes of people whose lives will be tangibly changed and affected.

With your help in contributing , together with Foundations of farming https://foundationsforfarming.org/in-depth-trainin... and Agra Provision Training academy https://agra.com.na/index.php/provision/agra-agric...
