Our Nanay Aida’s Battle Against Leukemia

Hi Friends!

I know that this is a difficult time for all of us and I am already grateful to you for making time to read this post.

I'm reaching out to you because my grandmother and the only sunshine of my life, Adelaida Paradas, 87, is currently battling with chronic myelogenous leukemia and pneumonia.

She was rushed to the hospital on Friday morning, 14th of August. After being rejected by two hospitals in Manila, she’s finally admitted at Manila Medical Center, Philippines.

The current covid-19 situation in the Philippines makes it 10x extra harder for her and for the family. The healthcare system in the Philippines is almost non-existent.

Our current running bill as of 19th of August is almost 300,000 PHP ($6,000+). We are trying our best to raise funds, but we cannot do it all alone.

She's placed in a room, where she would be waiting for her covid-19 test result. Then, they can proceed with other procedures and main treatments. These are all on top of her confirmed pneumonia and multiple blood-related complications.

I do not know until when this battle will be, but we would like to give it a good fight. I want to give it a good fight.

This beautiful soul devoted all her life helping other people, raising children of other mothers even if she does not have her own.

This beautiful soul raised me and it breaks my heart to tiny million pieces that I cannot even be with her during this time.
