Campaign Story
Hello everyone. This is Jeriah's father, John, who is knocking on your kind hearts to help us fund his medical bills.
Some information about Jeriah:
Jeriah Ezekiel was born healthy last 31st August 2020 via C-section. He is a very cute, happy, normal and cuddly baby.
He is also our greatest gift together with his big sister.

Start of seizures:
Last 30th October, he has his first seizure and those only lasted for less than a minute and we were able to bring him to the hospital and have him checked by a Pedia Neuro. He was confined for a night and we got discharged the next day. He was also given a maintenance medicine for his seizures. For about a month, he was doing fine and we all thought that the seizures were controlled but we were wrong.
Going in and out of the hospital:
After almost a month, the seizures have comeback and the occurrences are more frequent and visible.
This photo was taken when we were about to go back home after being confined for a day in Manila East Medical Center
Again, in between days, from 30th November to December 8, we are going in and out of the hospital seeking for the treatment of his seizures. On 8th December we have decided to transfer him to Philippine Children's Medical Center. The decision came when his Pedia Neuro in MEMC wasn't able to control his seizures and PCMC, having specialists and a program for his condition (epilepsy) had cemented it. Jeriah was admitted for a day in the ER and was transferred to the ward and had stayed there for four days and was brought to Pediatric ICU (PICU).
His seizures weren't controlled and in fact opened up other complications such as hypertension and elevated liver enzymes. He was visibly weaker by the day and our hearts are getting crushed seeing him like this.
(This in PCMC's ward and he is about to undergo a spinal tap)
Tests:
- Cranial ultrasound
- 2d Echo
- Different blood tests daily to monitor his condition
- MRI
- 2x EEG
- Spinal Tap
- Full abdominal ultrasound
- Abdominal ultrasound at NKTI
- Renal Doppler scan
- 2nd Opinion MRI at Cardinal Santos
- Urine Metabolic Screening (sent out to PGH)
- Cut down
- Certofix (procedure)
- Genetics testing (upcoming)
At such a little and fragile body, there are already several tests done on him that he has to endure. There were also a lot of failed IV attempts on him and blood extractions. Just thinking about these things makes us cry and wonder whatever did we do to deserve this.
(This was taken when he is getting transferred to National Kidney and Transplant Institute to have his abdominal ultrasound and renal doppler scan)
It has almost been a month since he was brought to the PICU and as you can imagine how our medical bill shoot up as of this writing. The specialists' clinical diagnosis of his condition is called Inborn Error of Metabolism. To completely conclude the diagnosis, the full genetics scan testing should be done. This test is quite expensive because the sample will be sent to another country for checking and will take several months to have the results.
Currently, Jeriah is still in PICU, intubated and acquired a pneumonia. He is doing good, and his vital signs have been stable thanks to the medications and prayers for our little fighter. This is really a very challenging time for our family and every prayer will greatly strengthen us and our baby.
This is a long battle.
We are a young family and just starting - we don't have unlimited resources and we know that what we have is not enough to go through this journey and we will definitely need all the help that we can get. We thank you in advance with whatever support you can extend with our family
May the Lord bless you and give back everything to you more than what you can ever imagine.
God bless!
