Hello!

My name is Elvin Grey B. Pascual, I was born on July 18, 2019 at exactly 6:45pm . My parents are Ella May and Kevin Pascual.

I was born with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. It is a rare condition with an incidence of 1 in 2,000 to 1 in 4,000 live births. It is an anatomical defect of the diaphragm, which allows protrusion of abdominal viscera into the chest, causing serious pulmonary and cardiac complications in the neonate. To make it sound simpler, my intestines were not in their proper place. Even when I was still inside my Mom's womb, it's already blocking one of my lungs that's why it can't be seen in the ultrasound. They thought, one of my lungs wasn't developed fully.

Since I was born, my parents weren't able to hold me because I need to be placed in the NICU. I can't breathe on my own. The doctors put a tube in my mouth so I will have a supply of oxygen and live. The doctors said I need to go through a surgery. They stabilized my breathing first and made sure my body will be prepared for the surgery.

Morning of July 25, 2019, I had my surgery. It was a successful one because I have my parents, family and relatives praying for me. I have my Mom and Dad on my side that's why I am strong. The doctors put me back to NICU and survived the most complicated 48 hours after the surgery.

I keep on doing better so I'll be able to go home soon. I spent another 17 days in NICU to heal. I still have tube in my mouth for oxygen supplement and tube in my left rib to remove all unwanted air in my lungs. Day by day I keep on doing great, the doctors are removing the equipment too. First, they removed the tube in my left rib. Second was the tube attached to my mouth, they keep on lowering my oxygen level until I reached 21% which was the normal until they removed it finally.

Afternoon of August 13, 2019, they finally let me go from NICU. I was transferred to recovery room which means my hope of going home is coming near. My stay in the hospital will be over and I will finally say home sweet home!

**That's the story if it's told by our Little Fighter, Elvin. :)

Hello, this is Melissa and I am the best friend of Elvin's Mom. This is the only way I know I can help this little family. When I found out how much was the operation and the after care, I know I have to do something. I know I have to help my best friend and her husband to at least lessen the stress and to make sure our little fighter will be released from the hospital when he's all healed. They were able to pay the expenses for 1st, 2nd and 3rd week. They're now heading to 4th week and the fee for Elvin's Surgeon, Anesthesiologist and Pedia.

Unfortunately, their savings account were running low too. Medication system in PH is really absurd and I know some hospital wouldn't allow the patient to go home if the bill is not yet paid. Financial help from their family poured already but it's not yet enough.

This is me knocking in your big and generous heart to raise funds for this little fighter's hospital bill. I'm not asking for a hefty amount, any amount that is vocal from your hearts will do. Any amount that you're willing to share for this little fighter will be greatly appreciated.

**Update as of August 17, 2019. Our Little Fighter - Elvin can be home anytime next week provided his parents will pay the rest of the hospital charges. It’s still summing up to Php500,000.00 or $10,000.00 more. Can we help this little family to be home? God bless all of your hearts. ♥️
