Our Little Crabby Man Needs Surgery

Our little Crabby Man Reese came to CSTR in 2016, and at that time he had a very large benign tumor the size of a softball at the base of his tail. The tumor was removed, and since then, our little man who Dr. Q says is "older than dirt" has led a healthy, happy life. Last year, however, he began to develop another tumor on his front leg. Dr. Q has been monitoring, and due to his age and the fact that it didn't seem to bother him, the decision was made to leave it rather than risking anesthesia to remove it. Unfortunately, though, recently the tumor has become ulcerated and painful, and so it needs to be taken off. This is a risky surgery due to Reese's age, and so we will be doing bloodwork and other tests before the surgery to make sure that he is as ready as he can be.
