Our home is a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ranch style home in the 21244 area code of Maryland. We have a detached garage, lots of storage space, room to park 4 or more cars easily and a beautiful back yard with an organic vegetable garden, a fire pit and it backs up to a lot of wooded and open land. We have cherry trees, pear trees, fig trees and an apple tree that all bear fruit each year.

We have been trying to sell our home for 3 years with no luck. We can't get it sold for the amount of money we need to pay off our mortgage and still have enough to move. We have looked into auctions, investors, FSBO and we've had two big name realtors in our area fail. They tell us our home is worth more than we have been asking although we haven't received a single offer.

This is pretty much our last ditch effort to pay off our mortgage and move to Florida. With your help this will be a win/win transaction. When we reach our goal we will pay off our mortgage and donate our home to charity. The charity that we donate our home to will be determined by those of you who choose to donate. When you make a donation, we ask that you mention your favorite charity. We will keep track of all the charities and how much was donated with each charity mentioned.

Let's say 30 different charities are mentioned by people giving money to this fund. The charity that has the most money associated with it will receive our home. For example 7 people donate a total of $2300 naming charity A, 4 people donate a total of $4500 naming charity B. etc.... and lets say 15 people name Charity C with a total amount of $30,000. Charity C will be receiving our home. The more you give the better chance your charity of choice will be given our home.

Now you may be thinking "if they couldn't sell their home, how do they expect my favorite charity to sell it?" This is an easy question to answer. We need to get a certain amount out of a sale in order to pay off our mortgage and have some money to cover our move to Florida. The charity we donate our home to won't have to make any specific amount because they will own our home free and clear. They can put it on the market and sell it the conventional way with a lower price than we can, or they can sell it to an investor who will buy it quickly. Either way, the charity can benefit greatly from a home that a realtor told us is valued at $177,000 even if they sell it quickly for $120,000.

Whether you choose to support us or not, thank you for taking the time to read this and please share it either on Facebook, Twitter, etc., and or send a link via email to everyone you know. No amount is too small and every little bit helps.
