Sweet Chacha’s Second Chance
In November 2011 a beautiful, chocolate, brindle pup was born.. born to a life outdoors… the daughter of a 24/7 chained dog, Sasha. That little, chocolate girl was given the name Chacha. She must have been a happy, little, wiggle-butt of a “dancing” puppy to earn the name Chacha. Just imagine this beautiful girl as a happy-go-lucky, little, wiggly puppy… almost irresistible! To no surprise, Chacha was the one her owner kept from Sasha’s litter. Soon enough, Chacha ended up on a chain just like her mother. It was the only way her owner knew how to keep a dog. It was just how he was raised and how all of the dogs in the neighborhood were kept. As Chacha grew up and neared 1 year old, she was becoming increasingly unhappy. She didn’t enjoy life on a chain. She was right next to her own mother who was being eaten alive by fleas and losing all her fur rapidly. That’s around the time C.H.A.I.N.E.D. Inc. found them. We visited the owner, offered some help, and met the dogs. Before we knew it, our education paid off and we were allowed to repair the fence to free both Chacha and her mother! The long awaited freedom they deserved!
In 2012, Chacha’s owner could no longer care for 2 dogs and surrendered Sasha who quickly found her forever home. Chacha remained free in the yard by herself. Eventually, Chacha was allowed to begin to come inside sometimes. She even started to become potty trained. Things were looking up for Chacha! Then a couple short months ago, Chacha’s owner had a family emergency. His life turned upside down and he was left with no choice but to give her up. He trusted only us to find her the family she needs. We were the ones there for her almost her entire life. We looked and looked for a forever home (we are still looking). However, time was running out and Chacha had to leave her home. With no place to go, she got sent to boarding. She was doing great for a while, but now boarding is wearing her down.
Chacha doesn’t quite enjoy boarding and she would much rather be in a home. Chacha has been boarded now for 6 weeks. We are searching for a foster or foster based rescue for her. Chacha needs some basic training and socialization skills in order to make her successful. We are planning on providing the training that she needs. Training is costly. Her current vet and boarding is over $1200 and that may just be the beginning. Please consider helping us out with Chacha’s growing boarding, vet and training fees. Even just a dollar helps! It all adds up! Please also consider sharing Chacha so we can get this girl out of there! Let’s break this beautiful girl out of boarding. She really needs a place to call her own. After all she has been through, she really deserves a loving home. Thank you for reading Chacha’s story…
