Our step dad, Enrique Lopez, who stood by our side like any biological father would do is battling with multiple illnesses. It started with back pain which we thought was just a simple injury when he fell off the stairs. It turned out, he has an intra-abdominal abscess or a collection of pus or infected fluid that is surrounded by inflamed tissue inside the belly. It can involve any abdominal organ, or it can settle in the folds of the bowel. We couldn't afford the operation and he doesn't have an insurance or a health card because we cannot enroll him as dependent due to his age, he turned (73 last July) so he doctor did the simplest way, which was to drain all the pus from his stomach using a needle. He had fever that time and was also diagnosed with Pneumonia so he was also requested to do a swab test. He responded positively to the medications until he suffered from internal bleeding, since he is diabetic, his organs were also affected. They also found out that there are at least 5 lumps on his lungs and he can barely breathe. Doctors suggest we move him to ICU, but the hospital where he's currently in does not have any available room. They are suggesting to move him to Asian Hospital but we can no longer afford all the medical and daily expenses anymore. He was admitted last September 15 and is still battling right now. We are knocking on your golden hearts right now. Any amount will be of great help and will be highly appreciated.
