Hey, Beautiful good people of the world. I hope you are keeping safe and well. God has been good to you I am sure.

My Name is Kevin Gacheru from Kenya and i am a journalist by profession.

In October 2019 (1 year ago) I lost my job in a retrenchment exercise. I was working at K24 TV Station, My Dues were deposited in my account but my bank refused me to access.

In 2016, I had taken a loan, the loan was to take care of my mother inlaws cancer treatment and other uses. Though we lost her later, the bank never forgot. Even after begging them to let me put the money in good use and pay them slowly.

I was left with a dry account including the money that was already in the account. I had no funds to take care of my family needs. Basic thing such as food has become a problem but I'm pushing on by freelancing and job searching. But opportunities are less day by day.

I have Two daughters that I love and wouldn't want them to know there's a problem ...too much about me.

As a journalist I have covered many stories about living conditions of Kenyans. I thought to my self if my children are going through this and I am alittle better-off, how about children who totally depend on school meals? The schools are closed due to Covid-19.

My intention is to help my home community children who cannot get that one meal a day, My neighborhood is a rural setting with so many kids who are poor. I want them to know they are kids and they should not worry about food.

This past Sunday 18th Oct.2020, we organised a fundraiser for a family which through my observation was really in need.

Through a helping organisation called Jawabu, a few weeks ago we visited Mathare slum, one of the biggest slum in Africa. Reason was to guide, counsel and help teenage Rape victims who are out of school due Covid-19, they might never get back to school because they have children and some are pregnant.

I would love to try and buy each family setting a durable internet enabled smartphones or establish a free learning internet enabled centre for the sake of the kids E-learning. Some of these kids are back on school syllabus, considering when national exams come in few weeks they will all be tested on same level with advantaged children who are able to have E-learning classes.

The money that you good people of the world will help me raise will fund these projects. I realized there's so much to do for humanity, For a better world.

That is why I turned to this fundraising platform for help. It's actually my first time ever, so if I'm doing it wrong please world family forgive me.

Good people of the world I love helping and as you know, a little goes alooong way. I know the world has been affected by Covid-19 but we cannot live it at that, let it not defeat us, we owe it to ourselves. To uplift to boost our sisters and brothers who are having it rough for a better world. Faith, Hope and Greatest of all LOVE. God gave them to us. Let's remind each other, especially the ones who are running low on them.

If you are able, any amount will highly be appreciated and for sure good God will Bless You.

God Bless your endeavours. Thank you and I will be praying for you.

Thank You. God Bless.
