Campaign Story
Dear Friends,
I am Oscar Lugusa Malande, a graduate of Master of Arts in Religion at Earlham School of Religion. I am a member of Vihiga Yearly Meeting of Friends in Kenya currently serving as a lecturer at Friends Theological College Kaimosi Kenya.
I have been admitted at the University of Birmingham, Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre. I have a four-year scholarship from the prestigious Langham Partnership Scholarship of £10,800. I need to raise the remaining balance of £7080. I have already paid £2002 remaining with a balance of £5078. Every year for the three years, I will need to raise the remaining balance of the total tuition estimated to be £10000. I have already started my studies and progressing on well.
My vision is to develop African Christian Quaker theological voice globally in sharing and carefully articulating the growth and development of Quakers in the African Christian context. I will also explore ways that will add to the continuing global north-south dialogue initiative. Out of the research project, I hope to update the existing scholarship on Quakerism.
I look forward to developing a graduate program that is needed in Africa, especially in Quaker studies. Hopefully, with the studies,I will be able to develop and teach in the graduate program. The burden in my heart is being a role model and a mentor, critical in developing future scholars in theological studies among Friends, especially in Africa. Above all having the ability to continue serving God, humanity and all creation more effectively are necessary for me.
I am short of funds and kindly requesting your help in raising the funds to enable me fulfil my dream. I request a commitment of the donations to be sustained for at least three years, the targeted time of finishing my studies.
Thank you and blessings to you.
