Oscar joined our family in 2019 as a small kitten he was rescued by my husband and has been a beloved member ever since. He was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) on 12 January 2021. We took him to the vet because his abdomen grew abnormally large and removed some fluid, but his blood tests confirmed that he had Fip

What is fip?

FIP is fatal in more than 95% of cases. In mild cases of the ‘dry’ form, it may be possible to prolong the survival period, but most cats with the ‘wet’ form of the disease die within two months of the onset of signs.

Oscar has the wet form, with fluid accumulated in his abdomen. So far, he has shown minor symptoms like fatigue and loss of appetite, but the disease progresses rapidly and the fluid may obstruct his ability to breathe and he might go on to develop neurological symptoms like seizures or paralysis once the disease progresses.

How you can help

Until recently, FIP was untreatable and vets recommended euthanizing cats to save them from further suffering. There is now a drug called GS-441524 that has been proven effective in treating FIP in clinical studies lasting 12 weeks.

FIP Treatment is not cheap one vial cost $100 I will need 84 days of injections to reverse her body from creating mutated cells and instead create healthy cells.

I love oscar and I will do whatever I can do to make sure he lives the best life possible.

At current calculations, he needs 34 vials of this life saving medicine, which amounts to $3,060 and $55 for shipping from China. I plan to order two weeks’ worth of medicine at a time, possibly more if the funds allow. All funds will go to his treatment and vet visits.

I want to start his treatment before his symptoms get any worse. Please help me avert his suffering and save the life of a beloved family member. Oscar and her dad will be very grateful for any donation large or small. He has had a tough start to life and a lot of tough months ahead of her, however, with your help, we can fight this together.

His reports, xray, and blood test are listed below⬇️
