Campaign Story
My girlfriend’s name is Michele Johänntgen, she is a 24-year-old university student.
I started this “gofundme” page because she needs an Orthognathic Surgery. After 6 years of gradually increasing jaw joint pain (arthrosis), breathing problems, daily jaw dislocations, chewing problems and speaking problems we finally found out that she has a face scoliosis. It is a deformation of her facial skeleton that effects the functions of her face.
In the picture below you can see, how the deformation severed over the past 6 years. And with each year passing it gets worse.
The first was taken 6 years ago, the second 3 years ago and the third one was taken 6 months the day after we went to the oral surgeon when he gave use the diagnosis.
He told us that her right facial bones grew much longer than those one the left which caused the deformation. And that the only way to correct the problems that this deformation causes is the Orthognathic surgery where they have to cut out parts of her facial bones and realign them, screw them together that they match onto each other.
I really hope for your help, nowadays those problems affect her so much because she is studying languages and therefore she has to speak and practice speaking a lot but because of the pain she barely does. Even kissing me is often too painful for her. She is a very sensitive and lovely person and I really love her and I hope that after 6 years with your help she can have the beautiful smile again that she used to have.
If you have any question or maybe you have some advice or experience, please write us an E-mail because we don’t use social media other than E-mail and Whats app. We are grateful for any support.
Thank you very much.
