orphans in Kenya need a safer classroom

I dropped my ETH Zurich master programme in order to be a volunteer to travel around the world and see what the world really is. After teaching in Uganda for two months, I came to visit Nissii Christian Academy in Mbita, Kenya. Then I realised that there is always a school that has a worse condition than what you thought is the worst.

Like I said I have been in Uganda for two month and I have seen many kind of school buildings. But the Nissii Christain Academy is the worst so far and there is no doubt about it. As you can seen in the picture, if no one in front of the build, you may think it is just a slum, but they are actually classrooms for teaching kids.

If you keep looking carefully, you will find that the inside of the building is very dark because of the poor design of the building. (If it's light, it is because of my cellphone's issue) When you look around the inside of the classroom, you will see that how poor, unsafe and unstable the main structure is. Some of the main pillar main even thinner than a young kid's wrist; some pillars are not long enough and they just connect two or three short pillar together and they are used to support the iron sheet.

I believe that right now, they need more financial support than other kinds of support. They need at least 4 classrooms for Grade 1 to 4 by next year because they only have Grade 1 to 3, primary 1 to 2 and baby. (about 400,000 Kenya shilling, 4000$).

Just try to save the money for one or two cans of coca-cola and donate them to Nissii Christian Academy.
