Campaign Story
Hi, my name's Katie and I'm raising money for a trip next summer to work within an orphanage in Sri Lanka for 3 weeks.
Alongside a friend, we'll be helping the children with their homework, to learn English, and grow in confidence by playing games and getting to know them. We'll be staying in Ambalangoda, working with children up to the age of 18 and meeting other volunteers to work with over the period.
I'm very excited to travel, planning other trips such as Camp America and hiking in Australia. After finishing my A levels I will be taking a year off to travel and volunteer, as I'm very interested in going abroad to help others and learn about their culture. The work I'll be doing in Sri Lanka will be a great opportunity to experience their way of living and make a difference, therefore starting in Ambalangoda and helping the children there would be a lovely start!
