Orphanage volunteer work in Sri Lanka

Emily & I are trying to raise money in order to travel to Sri Lanka, located just outside of central Ambalangoda, on August 18th for 3 weeks and volunteer to work with less priviliged children at an orphanage supported by PMGY. And we hope that you can help us fund this life changing experience, and give us the oppertunity to make a difference to those who are not as lucky as we are.

PMGY’s Orphanage volunteers programme in Sri Lanka brightens up the lives of young children making a vital and important contribution to their daily lives. It is important to note that many of the children in Sri Lanka orphanages are not orphans in the strict sense of the word. While some of the children may have lost both of their parents, others are rescued from broken homes and abusive families and many are given up by their families as they simply cannot afford to look after them.

Any size donation is welcome, every penny will help us get closer to our target and will move us one step closer to being able to move forward and go to Sri Lanka.

We have also agreed that if we can not reach the desired amount of funding, all of the donations that would have been kindly made will be given to the charity that we would have been helping out if we were to go. Or another viable option is to split it between a few organisations that Support children who are disadvnataged, in the Ambalangoda Region. If anyone has an issue with the money going to charity they can email us individually to negotiate a refund.
