Campaign Story
PURPOSE FOR FUNDRAISING
National History Day is an annual competition that schools around the nation compete in. Students compete strictly on a volunteer basis and therefore funding is limited or non-existent! Our names are Samantha Morrow and Peyton Soethout. We have qualified to attend the national competition in Maryland. We need your help to raise money to fund our trip. Our school, Waukee Middle School, has never had a student qualify for nationals. As a result, our school has never needed to fund a student's trip let alone two student’s trips, along with their adult chaperone :)
FUNDING NEEDED
We need to raise $3,200 dollars to fully fund our trip to Maryland and to compete in the National History Day Contest. Any extra monies raised through this website will be donated to the Waukee Middle School for future competitors.
COMPETITION TOPIC
This year’s National History Day theme is Rights and Responsibilities. We chose to explore the Orphan Train Movement. This topic is significant because it made Americans realize that children need a voice to advocate their rights in the United States. Although most parents have the intention to love and provide for their children unconditionally, unforeseen events can abandon children leaving them defenseless and unprepared for the world at large.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration in donating to our mission. Any monetary contribution is appreciated! Please take time to view our website. We appreciate any feedback to enhance our project. Our link is currently under reconstruction for our final submission due May 20th, 2014. http://94632984.nhd.weebly.com/
