The aim of this fundraiser is to raise funds to expand my current small scale organic garden and successfully setup and run an organic farm and heirloom seed bank for the preservation of our natural food heritage and our food sovereignty. Food sustainability is critical in these trying times when millions of people go hungry everyday.
The farm will provide much needed employment for many families, as an organic farm requires a lot more labour. The aim is to teach the local community how to farm traditionally using natural methods.
The demand for organic produce is rising and farmers are battling to keep up with the demand, especially for export to Europe, this is an important aspect in ensuring the enterprise is successful.
Due to the covid lockdown, as a director of a small successful company, I have had to re-evaluate my situation, and have decided to pursue my passion, farming and teaching communities how to support themselves without using expensive non-traditional methods.The aim is to create a fully self-sustainable farm with zero waste.
