Campaign Story
My name is Bryan Milambwe and I am an Entrepreneur. My journey began early in my childhood selling sweets at school and running a car wash for my teachers. Today I am the founder of N8ive Models. N8ive gives me an avenue to support black empowerment and skills development in a country struggling to fulfill its talent. As I continue on this journey to realize my full potential as an entrepreneur, I would like to invite you to join me in raising funds to help expose young models and actors from all backgrounds to the skills and markets needed to realize their dreams, by taking N8ive to the next level.
N8ive is a model and talent management agency representing predominantly black African talent with an 80/20 split (80% black/20% other races). My mission is to scout and train at least 100 models per year, and help them successfully acquire jobs. I want to show the world how beautiful, talented and amazing Africans are. I want to see more Africans equipped with acting and modeling skills so as to be able tell our own stories, feature in superhero movies that inspire African kids and ultimately extend our mark within the film and modeling industry.
THE PROJECT & GOALS
N8ive is inviting anyone with a passion for building-up creative folk to join us in raising funds to take this industry forward. Since being in the industry, I have noticed several challenges new entrants are faced with. These include; lack of education, exposure, and proper finance, to name a few. Through this crowdfunding project we wish to help these individuals deal with these challenges.
Primarily, we are raising funds to help with skills development training, however, part of this includes expanding our current photography studio, get more human resources, providing transportation to gigs, secure larger office/training facility and marketing.
Achieving this will give N8ive the edge in offering free training, free packaging (portfolios and show reals) and a more experienced and efficient management team to make the skills development project a success. We believe success is "opportunity meeting preparation". A highly skilled and better packaged base of talent will not only increase our talents’ chances for success drastically, but ideally bring a professionalism and quality to the industry that is missing.
We want to run talent development training. With Your Money We Will:
- Expand and refurbish the training facility
- Create a fully functional studio setup
- Buy a better camera
- Improve our marketing reach
LOCATION AND TIME SCALES
N8ive is situated in the hub of creativity, Maboneng, in Johannesburg’s CBD. The project officially kicks off in January 2018 and will run until December 2018, repeated annually. The table below shows activities on a quarterly basis for 2018:
SUSTAINABILITY
We aim to be self-sustainable by mid-2018 and are very optimistic about achieving results sooner. Income will be generated from jobs scored by talent, and by renting out our studio space to other creatives.
PROJECT TEAM AND LEADERSHIP
The fundraising project is being run by Bryan, founder of N8ive. I’ve been running N8ive for two years already. You can trust me with your money. We are also NAMA (National Association Model Agencies) members and uphold the highest standards.
