Campaign Story
I am travelling to Mexico in the summer of 2017 to volunteer with Operation Wallacea. Operation Wallacea is an organisation running biological conservation projects in various locations around the World. The research carried out by the volunteers (that's me) on their programmes contributes to vital baseline biological monitoring that then allows areas to be protected or management plans to be implemented.
I will be carrying out biological surveys in the Calkmul area of the Mexican rainforest in and then around the coast South of Cancun near a small town called Akumal, a turtle nesting site. The cost of my trip covers both my travel and also a donation to the charity (OpWall:www.opwall.com ) to enable their vital conservation work to continue.
