Hurricane Maria has devastated Dominica, a beautiful island in the Caribbean with wonderful people, landscapes and wildlife.
Operation Wallacea has been running biodiversity research projects in Dominica since 2014, working alongside local partners and the forestry and fisheries departments. After such devastation, we want to raise as much money as we can to help our local partners on the island and the people of Dominica. Currently we have had no word form the island and our friends over there, but as soon as we know more we will post on here.
Currently we cannot state exactly how this money will be spent, but once we have made contact with our friends in Dominica a plan can be formed of the best way to use the money to help Dominica and its people get back on their feet. Please keep an eye on this page as it will be updated with a plan for the generous donations made.
For everyone who has been on our project in Dominica you will know what an amazing and unique place Dominica is, with such warm and friendly people. Any donation will be used in the best way possible and is hugely appreciated.
