My family and I were inspired after watching a video of a man feeding a homeless man a gourmet meal and my children begged me to make it possible for us to do the same. My goal is to give otherwise alienated people the opportunity to sit down, enjoy a gourmet home-cooked meal and feel like an ordariny member of society eating with a family.
Below is a breakdown of our projected costs based on the $5,000 donation figure which allows us to provide three-course, gormet meals to over 60 people after all expenses.
How Your Donations Will Be Allocated:
$30 per meal (Traditional Turkey Dinner, Salad, Dessert, Water, Cider)
$10 per person for dinnerware (plates, napkins, tablecloth, silverware, glassware(which will be given to them to keep))
$100 Cleaning Supplies to insure Sanitary Eating Surfaces
$200 Rental Truck
$500 Insulated Pan Carriers + Pans
$100 Refrigeration Unit For Desserts/Salads
$150 Family Size Fold Out Table + 4 Folding Chairs
$1200 Videographer @ 12 Hours (Est. 24 homeless families or 60 people(average 2.5 people per family unit))
$2450 - The cost to feed 60 people at ~$40 per meal.
Should our goal be reached, a portion of surplus donations will be donated to Food For Families to continue to provide food to those less fortunate all year long.
