About Me: I would like to start off by asking that you all pleas read this with an open and unjudgemental frame of mind. My story is an interesting and crazy situation. With that being said, I will begin. My Name is Britt Cox. Currently I am servng a life sentence without parole in the Colorado Department Of Corrections. My DOC # ia 123499. At the moment I am at Arkansas Valley Correctional Facility. I was convicted at trial of Felony murder. Among several other charges. Crimes for which I did not commit, had nothing to do with, and had no knowledge of. I have been made out to be a heartless monster by every media outlet. All the information that anyone reads or hears about me has been systematically fed to the media by the porsecution in my case. Not only is it all only their theory, it is completely inaccurate and outright lies. I am by no means an angel and I have been in my fair share of trouble. But that does not make me a murderer. The truth is that I am a family man. I have a beautiful teenage daughter. And an amazing lady who has always stood beside me all throughout my battle. I also have the support of my parents and my sister. Throughout this entire ordeal, my entire family has been completely humiliated. But they have complete faith in my innocense. I try my hardest not to be a burden on my family nor on society. This is one reason why I have turned to this site for help. Why I need Help: In order for the prosecution to get me convicted, my constitutional rights have been trampled on and not only by the prosectuors but by the judge in my case. At trial I was found not guilty of first degree murder. Which means that there was no evidence that I commited any murder. How ever I was found guilty of fealony murder. I was convicted with no evidence of D.N.A., no murder weapon, no eye witnesses, nothing what so ever. My oringinal defence Attorney stood before the judge and begged for more time before trial, because he was no where near prepared to provide a complete and adequate defense. he judge had no reguard in the fact that this was essentially a fight for my life. My attorney and I were forced into trial completely unprepared. It eventually lead to my wrongfull conviction and loss of freedom. I now have a new state appointed attorney who refuses to communicate with me and my family. Since my conviction over two years ago, I have had one meeting with my lawyer that lasted only 35 minutes. Every letter and phone call that I have made to him have virtually gone unanwsered. I have exhausted all financial means to continue to fight for my freedom, and have come to a point that I am asking for some help. With all the donations I receive, I plan to hire a new and fresh attorney who will have the drive and motivatoin to assist me in getting a new trial. Anyone who has ever needed the services of any lawyer for any reason understands that a good and competant one does not come cheap. How Your Money Will Help: I am definetly not proud to be in my situation and asking complete strangers for help. I feel like I have been unfarily backed into a corner. I live in America and I an suppost to have a fair trial. If you can find it in your heart to donate any amount, no matter how large or small, it would help me hire an attorney and continue to fight for my freedom. Also the money will help me in hiring an outside firm that specializes in wrongful convictions that will assist any attorney I hire. Your money will hopefully right the injustice done by an over zealous prosecuter and a biased judge. But most importantly your donations will help me restore my family. Why Should You Help: I have sat and thought  to myself "why should anyone care?". I believe that any person could be in my situation and they would only hope that someone would help them like I am asking you to help me. Human compassion can be a great thing and I could use some at this point in my life. There are many facts that are not known and can prove my innocence. I will gladly discuss details with anyone interested in helping with my case. A donation of any amount will be greatly appreciated and will be a huge help in my fight for not only my freedom, but more importantly justice. Not only do I seek monentary donations, but any correspondance would be appreciated. My ultimate goal is to raise enough money for legal counsel, however  any lawyer who would beinterested in offering thier services on a pro-bono basis would also be a great help. Closing: I would like to thank you for taking the time to read about me and my case. I can only hope now that you will find it in your heart to assist me in my fight for my freedom. Anything will help out tremendously. My entire family and myself thank each and every one of you. I wish you all the happiness in the world.
