My name is Nicholas Tomasello.  I live in Cary, North Carolina and i currently go to school at Wake Techincal Community College.  I am taking Intro to Ethics in my second year at WTCC.  in this class we have a term project where adress an ethical issue, analyse it, provide some solution(s) and the finally, we have the 'do' part of the paper.  the 'do' part is where we must go out and actually do something in regards to our paper.  for my 'do something' I want to raise money for a mortgage payment and deliver it to a Household that had fallen on hard times.  i have found the Ellis family, who were well off until their employment difficulties in the beginnning of the recession.  i want to give them a chance to finally pay of their debt.  here is more on the Ellises situation from my paper.

"What I want to do is go on to a few of the multiple fundraising websites and tell the nation of Raleigh’s predicament.  More specifically, I want tell nation about a certain household.  The Ellis family, specifically Mrs. Christine Ellis, has been struggling since 2008 to stay afloat. The Ellis family are friends with my family, and before this paper I had no idea that the Ellises were struggling.  The biggest thing Mrs. Ellis has had to deal with is her mortgage loan.  The Ellis family originally took out two loans, totaling $125,000, to buy the house they live in now.  Both of the Ellises have had self-employed careers and were able to manage decently until 2008.  Ever since then, the Ellises have struggled to keep their house.  One of the two loans was actually sold to the other company, so one bank had the whole loan.  For the first couple of years, their monthly payment was a little over $1,000. This quickly became too much.  This caused them to fall behind in payments by three months. After they started to fall behind, the banks started sending mail to  that the Ellises had to pay $25 for each time.  Then the bank came out to survey the land, thinking the bank would soon claim the house, and charged the coiuple $200.  Every chance the banks got, they nickel-and-dimed the couple. It all added up to about $3,000 in fees.

Close to the end of their rope, the Ellises decided to meet with a debt consolidator.  It took months of fighting, but eventually they resolved the fees and after meeting with the consolidator, they now owe $90,000.  Even their monthly payment has gone down to the amount of $768, but all this hasn’t helped the couple as much as they hoped.  Since they are still both self-employed, it is hard for them to both find steady work.  Chris Ellis has the steadier job as a licensed masseuse, but her husband has had a much harder time in the construction business.  They have had to sacrifice more than they thought in order to keep the house.  What I want to do is raise enough money to pay a month of their mortgage, just to give them one less thing to worry about for a month.  It would be even better if I could pay off their entire debt and I would if I could get the funding, but I am sure they would be happy with any help. I have finished one of the three profiles for the online donation sites and plan on donating $100 of my own money to start things.  I want to show that everyone can help with the epidemic of forecloses here in the Raleigh area."

anything you can do to help will be greatly appriciated, especially now that we are getting super close to the holiday season!
