My name is Michelle Huynh and I am currently a senior Allied Health major at Texas A&M University! During the summer after I graduate (May 11th, 2018), I have the opportunity to travel to Nairobi, Kenya for a two-week medical mission trip where I am able to volunteer in a clinic in a nearby village called Wagusu. I have been praying for years for an opportunity like this and it seems I have been called this year to do so! The volunteer program, which is called Operation Africa, has been sending pre-medical Aggies to Africa since 2011, where they are able to gain real-world experience in the medical field. It has been a lifelong goal for me to go to PA school and to become a Physician Assistant, and I believe this experience would expand my medical knowledge and give me the chance to become a well-rounded healthcare provider in the future. As wonderful as this opportunity is, the expenses of the trip are not. Currently, I am a full-time student and only a part-time student employee, so any type of donated amount to help fund this trip would be greatly appreciated! I can’t wait for this opportunity to share my love of medicine and to give back to a wonderful and empathetic community! Thanks and gig ‘em!
Trip duration: May 14th-May 28th, 2018
