Baby Caleb Angelo was born on November 28, 2017, normal and healthy. He was only 3kg, and no heart problems detected. While baby caleb is growing we notice that he is having difficulty in breathing and we taught it was just normal for new-born babies. Apparently doing well until age of 3 week old, he was admitted for neonatal pneumonia with wheezing for 7 days. When he was 5-month old, heart murmur has been detected by his pedia and referred to a pedia cardio and diagnosed him of Venticular Septal Defect (VSD). At the age of 6 months he was again rushed to the hospital and admitted for 15 days due to bronchopneumonia with wheezing in distress. moderate. And for the third time of the same condition at the age of 10 months.

After numerous check-up with the cardiologist, we were told that baby Caleb needs Cardiac Catheterization as soon as possible to prevent the clogging. But after a month, Caleb Angelo again undergone 2D echo and check-up and we were informed that an Open Heart Surgery is needed not Cardiac Catheterization because of his diagnosis VSD perimenbrous VSA, PDA and CoA (May dalawang butas po sya sa puso at may ugat sa puso na patuloy sumisikip).

I have always been emotional when I accompany my sister (Caleb's Mother) when rushing baby Caleb in the hospital. It really hurts to see babies crying in pain. I always hide myself while crying whenever I see my nephew in pain. Same also with my sister. I know that mothers are strong and they only breakdown when no one sees them. Great is the love of a mother to her child, as always.

Caleb is increasing very little weight, this is because of his congenital heart disease. And he is very prone to diseases, he is always sick and drinks a lot of medicines everyday. We want to make the life of baby Caleb the same of the little kids out there, normal and happy. We want him to grow very healthy and not in pain.
