My nanay, Mrs. Maryann T. Patriarca has coronary heart disease. Recently, she has been in and out of the hospital because of frequent and sudden heart attacks and because of it her heart could no longer handle the stress. As of now, she is under heavy medication and is scheduled for an open heart surgery.
Maryann, or as "Anne", as the people know her is just a simple housewife. Her husband, my father, Mr. Salvador S. Patriarca works humbly, just enough to get us through our everyday lives. When she was just a child, she contracted rheumatic fever that caused permanent heart damage to her heart which we call now rheumatic heart disease. Because of these, she isn't allowed to do strenuous activities. But being always the sunshine she is, she didn't let her disability affect the way she viewed life. My nanay is the best thing that happened to us, a lot of folks know her and my father as people who know all walks of life, who can sympathize with people they barely know. Everyday she would walk through the market to buy ingredients for our food and everyone would greet her and she would greet them back. She would sit down with one of them and spend hours just making chika and spreading positive vibes. But eventually the stress has been too much for her to handle that she developed other complications that came with the diseases she already had. She was diagnosed with aortic valve heart disease. Just last week, she was rushed to the hospital because of difficulty breathing and we eventually found out that it was heart failure.
The results of her hospitalizations was that she needed urgent open heart surgery, and we already consulted other doctors for second opinions to make sure it was really what she needed. They have already tried to treat her with heavy medication but they ultimately ruled that she needed the open heart surgery and it was need really soon.
The cost of the surgery amounts up to 1.5 million pesos. And it's a lot. My father just works humbly to get us through everyday and it would take a long time for us to produce that kind of money which is needed soon. Me and my family would like to reach out to you to request medical/financial assistance to fund her operation. It would mean so much to us to receive your help, and we would exhaust every resources that we receive for her surgery and utmost recovery. Me and my brother are still just kids in a sense and we still want to be able to give our everything to our parents, to give them something they can be proud of. It would mean the world to us if we're given a chance to make that true, so may we humbly ask for your help. Thank you, so much.
