The heart wrenching half-hour ‘Only 16: Tragedy of 2 Billys’ documentary focuses on the tragic, untimely deaths of two seemingly invincible and popular 16-year-old young men. They are Billy Farr and Billy Strassburg, who lost their lives in separate, unexpected high-speed car crashes. Emotional interviews with family and friends of the 2 Billys, along with strategic on-location filming, illustrate the stories. Current presentations are focusing on the fragility of life, the risks and consequences of underage drinking and grief and loss. Thus far, we’ve been successful through our efforts to bring “hope to the hopeless” and “encouragement to the discouraged”, to help families and communities avoid similar tragedies.
Praise for ‘Only 16; Tragedy of 2 Billys’…
“Although the events of ‘Only 16: Tragedy of 2 Billys’ may have happened a while ago, the reminder of the fragility of life and risks and perils of underage drinking ring as true as ever today. These are messages the entire family needs to hear.”
– Wayne Larrivee, Green Bay Packers Radio Network & Host of ‘O16: T2B’
“Every high & middle school student needs to see this!” – Sadie McBride, Recent TV Viewer, Oakland, CA
The film is about teens, and resonating with teens, but focus group showings are revealing the real “home run” of the message seems to be with parents. The goal is to continue to procure community events that will invite teens and parents. Presentations include showing the whole half-hour or a 10-15-minute version of the film followed by plenty of time for meaningful discussion on the issues.
