Ongoing costs for stray dogs

I have loved animals, especially dogs, since I was a child. Since I was 4 years old I have always been around dogs and it has always made me sad seeing them straying. My dream was to have a shelter for all stray animals, dogs and cats, and housing for homeless people to live there too and look after them. For the past 5 years I have been volunteering and helping stray dogs. I started by helping in shelters few days per week and for the past 2 years I have been rescuing and rehoming dogs myself. The dogs we rescue are usually more difficult - they need surgeries, extensive and expensive medical care, more difficult characters. Of course we get many easy going dogs too. But the ones that stay for long under our care have ongoing expences - food, kennel bills (as we don't have premices, so if no foster is found the dogs have to go in to paid kennels). Fighting a losing battle is not easy but seeing the ones gone to their new families, living their best lives, keeps us going. 2023 is looking to be one of the hardest years in rescue, many dogs being thrown out, groups of stray dogs forming, finding dogs with no microchip on daily basis that no one ever claims. It is not cheap to look after so many dogs and make sure they are always fed and healthy. So I am asking for help to keep the dogs under our care safe, fed and healthy.
