Campaign Story
Hello everyone!
Our dear friend, Abigail Marie Tupas, was diagnosed with Acute Lymhpoid Leukemia (ALL) last April 24, 2019.
ALL is a type of cancer of the blood and bone marrow — the spongy tissue inside bones where blood cells are made. The word "acute" in ALL comes from the fact that the disease progresses rapidly and creates immature blood cells, rather than mature ones. As an acute leukemia, ALL progresses rapidly and is typically fatal within weeks or months if left untreated.
She has been undergoing chemotherapy since May 2, 2019 at the Cebu Doctors University Hospital, Cebu City. She is currently low in her blood counts as expected post initiation of induction chemotherapy. Her treatment requires supportive transfusion with RBCs, and platelet concentrates by apheresis as needed, as well as antibiotics when fever recurs.
Given her young age, the doctor advised that she deserves the full benefit of both chemotherapy and supportive treatment, which may last 3-4 weeks or more.
This page was created by her friends to reach out to anyone willing and able to provide anything that may benefit her and her treatment, especially financial support for the extensiveness of the treatment.
Abigail has been working away from her family for almost six (6) years now, thus the need of her immediate family to travel back from and forth to Cebu to accompany her and take care of her needs as they cannot miss their work assignments.
Her boyfriend, RJ, has been with her since Day 1 and has been covering for her family's absence to arrange hospital matters, coordinate with blood donors and accompany Abigail in her chemo sessions.
This is a trying time for her and her family and we would like to find a way to help them ease their financial struggles, at the least. Anything you can offer is already a great help in covering the costs of the treatment, antibiotics, family's logistics and other hospital needs.
Abigail will also be needing O+ platelet donors as her total blood count decreases due to chemotherapy. Those available and currently near the area may contact RJ at +639985100594.
More than anything else, we would like to request prayers for strength and courage that Abigail will continue to fight and get through this.

HELP 1500 Hungry Kids in India The Feed India Foundation started out trying to help 200 hungry orphans in the immediate in India. Feed India a team of volunteers have been feeding these children twice a week but, as word spreads, more and more hungry children are arriving. Some of them are walking 17km to get to the resource centre for a meal. Recently, numbers have been over 1500. This is a huge undertaking to give food and hope to so many starving children. We gratefully acknowledge the support we have received so far but none of us envisaged the numbers swelling from 1200 to 1500+. All of them need a meal and none should be turned away hungry. Please help us to continue this vital work. $10 will feed one child for a year (2 meals a week atm) This is such a small amount per child.... but 1500+ children.... it soon becomes a real challenge... thank you for your generosity
May 22 Update
Update posted by Tonee Lacson at 12:13 pmHi Guys! Update on Gail: Her CBC is looking good. Her WBC went down a bit (as expected due to chemo yesterday) but her platelet went up again around 300 plus as of this morning. She also had her bone marrow aspiration this morning, the doctor is optimistic that it. . . . .
