This on-line appeal is to SUPPLEMENT what we hope to raise on the night at the One Winter's Night event next Saturday 14th January 2017. Our target is £6,000. So if you are unable to the come to the concert, please feel free to donate on this funding page. I can assure you that all money donated on this page, including via PayPal, will be added to our grand total, and will be divided evenly between the children's charity Challengers, and Onslow Ward (Oncology & Haematology) at The Royal Surrey Hospital.

BACKGROUND
After the huge success of the inaugural One Winter’s Night concert in 2016, we are thrilled to be staging a second extraordinary evening of live music, in aid of two wonderful charities. This year the stellar line-up includes: CARDBOARD CAROUSEL, PORTLAND, CLAUDIA STARK, TOM GORTLER, BARE JAMS, EVA PERRIN FONTANA, MEG BARWELL, KEITH BAYLEY, SOPHIE & VIKKI and special guests THE DIRTY CAROLS.

The evening will be hosted by local singer songwriter and promoter Gavin Thomas who has put together this event as a follow-up to his hugely successful charity music festival One Summer’s Day held in Guildford back in July.

All profits from the ticket sales of One Winter’s Night will be going to the Oncology Ward at The Royal Surrey County Hospital and the independent children’s charity Challengers that develops and provides inclusive play and leisure for disabled children across Surrey and Hampshire.

We are thrilled that this evening is being sponsored by KP Snacks and thanks to their generosity, we will be able to donate 100% of all money raised through ticket sales and donations to our two charities.

CHALLENGERS

Half of the money raised by this evening’s performance of One Winter’s Night will be donated to Challengers. This is an independent children's charity that, for more than 30 years, has developed and delivered inclusive play and leisure for disabled children and young people across Surrey, Hampshire and the surrounding areas. In 2014 Challengers provided more than 138,000 hours for 1,300 disabled children. These services were delivered at Challengers' Guildford and Farnham centres, as well as through schemes based at schools and community youth centres throughout the year. It's an extraordinary operation, and I'm thrilled that One Winter's Night will be supporting Challengers with this evening's event.

ONSLOW WARD – Royal Surrey County Hospital

Once again we will be supporting the angels at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, and half of everything raised from tonight’s event will be donated to the Oncology and Haematology Inpatient ward. The sisters, nurses, doctors and staff on Onslow Ward do a superhuman job under supremely difficult conditions, and we wanted to try to help somehow. Our donation will hopefully purchase a Maxi Move Hoist for Onslow Ward. This battery-powered passive sling lift allows a single caregiver to safely manage a wide range of patient handling routines, and it means that a patient can be safely and comfortably moved in and out of bed by a single nurse, rather than needing the care of multiple members of staff. GT Live Sessions are very proud to be supporting the Royal Surrey County Hospital for the fourth time.

One Summer's Day 2015 donated £1,700 to Macmillan Cancer Support, and £1,700 to the Detecting Women's Cancer Appeal at The Royal Surrey County Hospital.

One Winter's Night 2016 donated £2,500 to Shooting Star Chase, and £2,500 to the St Luke's Cancer Centre at The Royal Surrey County Hospital.

One Summer's Day 2016 donated £2,000 to Cancer Research UK, and £2,000 to the Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit at The Royal Surrey County Hospital.

This event sees the fourth of these events, and our target is a glorious £6,000. Thanks to our sponsor, KP Snacks Ltd, 100% of what we raise from ticket sales, raffle tickets and donations at tonight’s production will be divided equally between the children’s charity Challengers and the Oncology/Haematology ward at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

My huge thanks to ALL of you for supporting this event. Big love. Gavin.
