- Hi everybody! Some of you may know me and many will not but
I will share a dream I have with all of you.
I retired to the Philippines in August of 2019. I have
enough to live on comfortably (min social security), a place to live in and
paid for, great neighbors and a wife that loves me, plenty of good fresh food
and fresh air, what more could I want? Oh yeah and a dog named Beethoven. I
truly thought I would spend a lot of time in a hammock drinking rum drinks by
the seashore and taking it easy.
As great as it was something began to affect me. A sort of stirring, a bit of longing at
first, I could not determine maybe some stuff in the basement (
After a lot of thinking and reflecting I came to a conclusion. Maybe it was
partly due to my weight loss and increased stamina and vigor but I realized I
had a chance to have one more (at least!) adventure so I could have one more
story to tell. Maybe even be a doer again.
I have had great success with a metal detector in the past,
even a privately minted gold coin (see
Trail Leads to Gold
Western & Eastern), gold jewelry and gold nuggets
in Nevada and California USA. As I did research I was drawn to the idea of
searching for gold in Australia.
I found a company that does tours. My main expenses would be
for the tour guide, airfare from the Philippines to Australia (not so far from
the Philippines), vehicle rental and some equipment costs. Altogether approximately $4,000 US dollars. I could
envision a sponsor, maybe by a refreshing beverage company (Foster’s are you
listening?) but I am not counting on it.
It is possible to donate as little as a $5 dollars and I want to
say every single dollar I will consider as a blessing and a way of saying GO
FOR IT SCOTT!
Thank you all for he consideration.
